In addition to great food and fun guests, a well manicured yard is a must-have for outdoor gatherings. Here are a few things that you should take care of in advance of any Memorial Day parties:
Turn on any outdoor spigots and bring out your hoses.
You’ll need your hose to prep your yard pre-party. You might need it during the party for impromptu clean-ups as well. Issues with any of your outdoor spigots? Save $25 off any outdoor plumbing repair service now through the end of the month (must mention this post – valid on new services only!).
Fertilize the lawn and weed the flower beds.
Try to cut the lawn the day before the party for a fresh just-cut look.
Add new mulch to your freshly weed-ed flower beds.
New mulch adds a great pop of color while enabling the soil underneath it to stay moist so that your plants remain hydrated and healthy.
Clean your grill and any outdoor kitchen space.
For a quick grill cleaning, brush the grill grates & the hood, wipe down the burners and clean off the interior grill walls with a wet rag. For full details on a top-to-bottom cleaning click here.
Hose off, wipe down + air-out outdoor furniture/cushions.
After a long winter of sitting in storage all of your outdoor seating and tables will need a once-over.
Check all of your landscape lighting for burnt bulbs.
Landscape lighting adds an element of elegance to any yard while keeping your guests safer once the sun goes down.
Enjoy the weekend!
